Terms and conditions for ReConnect China Accounts

Fair use of our services

With a ReConnect China account, you are free to use all services on the website for whatever purpose, as long as what you are doing constitutes fair use of our services.

Fair use generally involves using a web browser to operate the site, and doing it in a way that is both safe and as intended by the operators of the site.

If activity is detected from your account or network that we deem unusual or dangerous to the website or other users, we reserve the right to immediately terminate your account, or to reject traffic from your network.

The following is an incomplete list of activities that clearly fall outside our fair use policy, and can lead to the termination of your account:

• sending a very large number of successive or simultaneous requests that interferes with the normal operation of the website (examples: fast scraping of data, denial-of-service attacks, slow-loris attacks, clickbots, etc.),
• any attempt to circumvent safety measures such as rate limiting,
• attempts to break into another's account or to impersonate another account.

Personal data

While we are committed to store as little personal data as possible, we consider the following technically necessary:

• A confirmed E-Mail-address is stored with your account to uniquely identify you, and to enable you to recover your account when you have lost the password,
• if logged in, cryptographic proof of your identity is stored in a cookie on your computer and sent with all future requests.

Neither the E-Mail nor the cookie are shared with third parties, and data stored on our end stays within the European Union.

Your E-Mail will be stored on our servers indefinitely, until you delete your account yourself, or when we terminate operation of the website, at which point all account data will be permanently deleted as it is no longer needed.

Please refer to the data protection statement for more detailed information on what information is stored, for what reason, and for how long. Once you have an account, all data asssociated with the account can be downloaded in a machine-readable format on the ReConnect China GDPR console. The account can be permanently deleted at any time in the account console.

Recovery of lost login credentials

Please reset your password on the login page by clicking the reset link. We will send you an E-Mail that you can use to choose a new password.

If you have lost access to your account as well as to your E-Mail-Address, recovery or deletion of the account is generally not possible.

Deletion of your account

You can use the account console to permanently delete your account yourself.

We further reserve the right to delete your account on our end without consulting you, if we deem it necessary for the stability of the website, or if we suspect nefarious activity.
