Information on accessibility
The University of Vienna is committed to providing accessible websites in accordance with the Austrian Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz (WZG, web accessibility act) as amended to implement the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 issued on 2 December 2016, p. 1).
This accessibility statement applies to the website under the domain reconnectchina.univie.ac.at.
Status of compliance with the requirements
The website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2.
Parts of the websites that are not fully accessible
From the last internal audit, the following accessibility issues have been identified:
- some sites don't have a single h1 (heading) element,
- hierarchy of titles is not consistent on all pages,
- some parts of the website provide less contrast than 3:1 (found on landing page, item detail page),
- tables on the landing page may be missing: headers attribute, table headings, captions, th scope,
- duplicate ID on item detail pages,
- some pages may use difficult language (see below).
We are actively looking for solutions to these problems. Please get in touch if you feel that some other aspect of the website poses potential accessibility issues.
Notes on style and language
This website reproduces original textual content taken from the Chinese internet (including headlines, texts and tables). The style, language and contents of these texts are beyond the control of the operators of this website and may thus contain language that is difficult to understand.
Translated content in English on this website is produced by automated means from the Chinese original and may likewise be difficult to understand if the original is.
Two important reasons for this limitation are:
- a large portion of our database is made up of legal texts, which, as a rule, don't lend themselves well to translation into simple language,
- due to the large size and quick growth of our database, it is technically difficult to review and maintain simple language versions.
Release of this accessibility statement
The first version of this statement was released on 2025 June 23.
The next update to the statement is scheduled for mid-of-June 2026.
